Memorial Plaque First Try

Thought I'd try making memorial plaques, printouts affixed to wood pieces. The first one came out reasonable well with a few mess ups. It's definitely doable.

Embroidery from my Drawing

This was created from a pencil drawing I did by a friend on Facebook. She writes:

Hello everyone... This is the completed picture of Drusilla Kehl's gorgeous butterfly rat.. This little creature I have dedicated to the memory of all our beloved ratties who have crossed over the bridge...he is there to guide their safe passage over into the other world... He's been stitched by me using pure silk threads and real whiskers... The whiskers have come from my Gambian pouch rat Peter... I collect them when he's shed them himself... And this little guy has his very own halo... I hope you like my interpretation of your gorgeous design Dru ...

Heart Shaped Pendants

Gouache with silver, gold, copper & pearl paint. The hearts are about an inch high in the center. I'm pretty happy with these. Gouache is working much better than transparent watercolor.

OOAK Watercolor Magnets

I decided to make these into magnets as I am waiting for necklace cords to come in. 1 & 7/8 inch square. Custom work (portraits) definitely possible. Look for them on Etsy (and at Rat Camp).

Experimenting

This is a first try at doing an actual watercolor and putting it under glass for use in jewelry. These puffy glass domes do not have trays. I will put a hanger loop on top and it will be a pendant. If all goes well and the colors stay true, there is no reason why I couldn't consider custom pieces. This piece is two inches by one. I will be getting in horizontal rectangle trays with glass. I think there's potential for some fun stuff. Good thing I like to work small.

Shrinky Dinks! More Craftiness

I was introduced to Shrinky Dinks at Bella's house before Florida Rat Camp. I never had them as a kid or I don't remember having them. Anyway, they make Shrinky Dinks that can go in your printer! And they work. This was a trial run (you can see some paper got stuck on the front so I know what not to do) but I am pretty happy with this idea. :)
The SD sheets can be ordered here.
