Mayan Rats
Matt has done some studying of Mayan glyphs. A rat actually figures in the Mayan epic myth cycle (I have to go look the name up). We found a picture of an actual carving of this rat character in a big picture book by Michael Coe (a leading authority). What Matt did was not far off.
